Title: Midunu (A table!)

Context: Cultural exchange with craftmen in Lomé (Togo).

Challenge: Dialogue with food behaviors

Realization: designed with Lily Saillant, Frank and Kokou in June 2018
Description:

This project is the result of a one-week workshop in collaboration with two uphosterers. We took inspiration from the different culinary habits in the country (depending of religions, cities or village, coast or forest). Everywhere the idea of the circle stay a common value. We co-create this table service which can be transferded in occident as a picnic table.
It is a universal table set to bring people together.

Process:

1/ Understanding Franck and Kokou’s working process and ideation.

2/ Interviewing people on their cultural diner habits.

3/ Defining our concept and design.

4/ Making.

We dyed our kente fabric (traditional way of weaving) directly at the studio with the help of Maurice. We took inspiration from the land’s colours.

Drawings, materials, tests.
